The Experience unfolds much like the stories that inspired it. It is scripted by "Next Generation" alumni Rene Echevarria and Ken Biller and promises to be as exciting and unpredictable a journey as any of the feature films.
The trip begins in a museum-like setting, featuring props and memorabilia from all points in Star Trek's 30-year history. Giant models of the various starships - including "Next Generation's" massive Enterprise D and a Klingon Bird of Prey - hang from the ceiling. Visitors then are promptly deposited on the main bridge of the USS Enterprise D.
On the bridge, visitors are given a mission briefing before taking a turbolift, speeding along the grand corridor to a shuttle bay, where 27-seat "shuttles" - actually state-of-the-art motion simulators - will take them on a high-speed trip through space and time. The "shuttles" will dodge Klingon warships and barely escape combat zones.
"Next Generation" stars Jonathan Frakes and LeVar Burton reprise their respective roles as Commander William Riker and Lieutenant Geordi LaForge, lending to the air of complete immersion.
