The German Waldemar Scholz, a trader that had a rubber exporting company and rubber plantation, built this large house at the turn of the 20-century. The building was sold to the state government and had its name changed to Rio Negro Palace up to 1997, when it became the Cultural Center with the same name.

The Rio Negro Palace Cultural Center offers to schools and visitors the "Livro Vivo" Project. Based on the history, the players represent society people telling curious histories, details of the construction, govern owning, walking all around the site.

Presentation on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. by Cia Metamorfose (Free).
