Depart Santiago early morning to allow plenty of time in Valle Nevado. Enjoy the views of Santiago Valley on the ascent, a windy paved road that follows the Mapocho River through a number of quaint mountain villages. Winter sports lovers, whether first-time skiers or experts (who else would dare ski 12,000 steep feet above sea level), will enjoy these excellent facilities. An array of restaurants—all with stunning mountain views, of course—are available for lunch (not included). Return to Santiago in the afternoon.
