Originally settled by 153 Welch immigrants who arrived on the ship “Mimosa” on July 28, 1865, Trelew has a strong Welch tradition. In the spring, which begins around October, the city holds a Welch literary and musical festival. The city’s biggest attractions include its paleontology museum and its proximity to the Punto Tomba Reserve and Peninsula Valdes. Trelew is also has many hotels, restaurants and gas stations among other commodities necessary to keep travelers going strong.
