Llanquihue Lake is a wonderful lake underneath the view of a towering volcano. It is the second largest lake in Chile after the "General Carrera". It has an extension of 215.000 acres (86.000 ha) and its name means "dive" (Mapuche language). In its shores are located the cities of Puerto Varas, Frutillar and Puerto Octay. These cities are famous by their beautiful beaches, German style architecture and their summer activities.
